Why? and Why not? are the questions I find myself asking nowadays.
Somehow, the answers to each sound startling similar, and I begin to worry that the stark difference between them doesn't really exist at all.

So as I am in this sort of gloomy disposition, it seems a bit unnatural that I announce what would generally be a joyous note; art update!
Well, art in so far as scrap doodles count as art. But they have been accumulating, whereas I have nothing really to offer in terms of polished shiny CG.

I've been rereading Runaways, and have almost surprised myself to realize that the arc I like best is the one that should never have existed in the first place; the second one, which spans from Senor Cyborgs introduction to Arsenic's depressing end. Perhaps because it was still written by the author who gave birth to the series, and so, read more smoothly than any of the subsequent volumes, I found that the characters were infinately more likable in this segment of the series, and that they underwent the most development. Chase was the highlight of the latter half, which considering he starts off as the blond-punk-jock, is quite impressive.

I think that Runaways has tied with Hourou Musuko for my favorite graphic novel/manga series, and it's ironic as they couldn't be any more different. Well they both contain angsty teenagers if you squint for the latter. Speaking of Hourou Musuko, Doi is confusing me! While his obtuse and aloof nature was intriging for like, the first 3 chapters, I'd just kill to have a more introspective look at him. The latest chapter hints at such a prize, but in the end, is still Nitorin-centric.
